The Globe breaks the Canadian Twitter trend record

asktheglobe

That’s right – #asktheglobe garnered more tweet impressions than the McDonald’s #StopFryTheft and Tim Horton’s #WarmWish trends both held in November.

The day-long twitter trend promotion on November 25 achieved 738,000 tweet impressions (# of times a tweet associated with the trend was seen), 10,700 engagements (clicks, replies, retweets, favourites) with tweets and 1,018 follows for @globeandmail.

How did we do it? We gave our Editor in Chief David Walmsley control of the account. David answered 41 reader questions in 60 minutes on @globeandmail, achieving nearly 4.5 million impressions of the #asktheglobe hashtag. To see the latest Canada Q&As visit ask.theglobeandmail.com.
