Friday night was a great night for Report on Business magazine at the National Magazine Awards where we won a total of six awards. Taking home four gold and two silver, we were second only to the Walrus, which received four gold and five silver.
We won gold for Best Cover (Hunter Harrison) – our Art Director, Dominic Macri’s fourth gold and the most in the history of the category.
Stephanie Nolen won gold in Business Writing for her story on the downfall of Barrick Gold Corp’s Pascua-Lama mine in Chile.
Eric Reguly took top honours for a selection of columns.
Steve Brearton, Judith Pereira, Dominic Macri, Chaz Osburn and Dani Perry won gold for Infographics.
A silver medal went to Jake MacDonald in Political Writing for a story on the Canadian Wheat Board.
Troy Moth won silver in the Portrait Photography category for the cover image, featuring Tobias Lutke, CEO of Shopify Inc.
