The Globe and Mail has proudly served as the Official Festival Representative in Canada since 2005. Our involvement as the Canadian representative stems from a passion to enable Canada’s marketing communications industry to thrive on the world stage.
In our role, The Globe and Mail works with the industry’s most respected influencers and leaders through the Canadian Cannes Advisory Board to recommend and nominate notable Canadian creatives, marketers and industry leaders to serve as Jurors at the Cannes Lions Festival. In addition to this, The Globe serves as the host of the Canadian Young Lions and Young Marketers qualifying competitions whereby our country’s young talent compete to represent Canada on the world stage at the global Young Lions competition.

Young Lions Competition
As the host of the Canadian Young Lions and Young Marketers qualifying competitions, this is the only competition in Canada that allows Canadians to officially compete at the Cannes Lions Festival. The Young Lions Competitions first launched in 2007 with the Print, Film and Cyber categories, followed by Media in 2008 and Marketers in 2012.
Canada’s Young Lions have shone brightly on the global stage as they compete against the world’s best young advertising and marketing talent.
